Dr. Lampert’s state-of-the-art medical facility includes roughly 4000 square feet of new construction and design, including his Ambulatory Surgery Center, Miami Surgery, LLC.

Unlike almost every other plastic surgery operating room in South Florida, Miami Surgery, LLC is not just an office surgery facility. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is Federally Certified by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the same agency that licenses all of the best hospitals in the state of Florida. Miami Surgery, LLC is one of only three other AHCA-certified ASCs in Miami-Dade County dedicated to plastic surgery and operated by only Board Certified Plastic Surgeons (American Board of Plastic Surgery) and Board Certified Anesthesiologists.

There are only two such ASCs in Broward County, making Miami Surgery, LLC one of only five other Plastic Surgery Ambulatory Surgery Centers to meet these criteria within the two largest counties in Florida. Since our ASC has achieved the highest accreditation by the State of Florida, (AHCA), patients and their families can remain confident that our facility meets and exceeds the same operating standards as the Ambulatory Surgery Centers found in world-class hospitals.

First-Place Award-Winning Healthcare Design: American Society of Interior Designers (Way To Go Mom!)

Dr. Lampert’s Medical Facility and Ambulatory Surgery Center won First Place for Healthcare Design Florida by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Award-winning ASID Interior Designer Adele L. Lampert dreamt of creating an environment of harmony and balance with which to surround her son’s patients. Adele L. Lampert had won many first-place ASID awards with her design company in Chicago, but this was the first that she had done so with her son, Dr. Joshua Lampert.

Dr. Lampert’s father, Gary B. Lampert, oversaw the complex engineering behind the Ambulatory Surgery Center’s construction. (He also painted this painting in the Miami Surgery, LLC waiting room!) Together as a family, the Lamperts aimed to create a peaceful and positive healing environment with calming color schemes and cozy yet modern furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Their architectural goal was to provide the ultimate in patient safety, comfort, and privacy for Dr. Lampert’s esteemed patients and their families. This construction was truly a labor of love. Dr. Lampert takes great pride in caring for his patients and working within the walls of this most beautiful, state-of-the-art medical facility.

PACU for Two: The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Miami Surgery, LLC is Not Only a State-of-the-Art Post-Anesthesia Recovery Unit Dedicated To Patient Safety, But Also a Comfortable Place to Wake Up to and Initially Recover After Surgery and Anesthesia.

Each recovery bay is equipped with modern patient monitors, comfortable adjustable recovery beds, walls piped in oxygen and suction, warm blankets, privacy curtains, natural light, and flatscreen TVs with movie streaming capabilities. Dr. Lampert’s father designed the soothing and smooth floor layout seen here and in the operating room. The pattern flows into the operating room with one integrated design.

Safety First: Miami Surgery, LLC Staffs Only Board-Certified Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Registered Nurses with the Common Aim of a Perfect Surgical Experience. Our Goal is to Provide the Ultimate in Patient Safety, Comfort, and Privacy.

As Miami Surgery, LLC is one of only three other Plastic Surgery ASCs in Miami-Dade County Certified by AHCA, we are held to a higher standard.

As a true Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), we must adhere to over 2,000 strict government standards, including quality assurance, risk management, environmental and life safety, emergency management procedures, equipment sterilization and sterile processing protocols, strict pharmacy compliance, abundant backup generator capacity, specific digital climate control, and air handling systems.

Miami Surgery, LLC must maintain the same safety equipment and requirements as the hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Our operating room is larger than most plastic surgery operating rooms and larger than many hospital ORs. We use the same anesthesia machines as the surrounding hospitals and have portable video laryngoscopy available if needed.

Because we maintain a very strict sterile processing program and only perform elective plastic surgery procedures on healthy patients, our postoperative infection rates are substantially lower than that of other surgical facilities and hospitals.

Having Surgery in an AHCA-Accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center Decreases the Patient's Risk of Exposure to Resistant Bacteria Like Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), Which is More Commonly Found in Hospitals.

Having surgery in the hospital poses an ever-increasing risk of acquiring a nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infection from a multidrug-resistant pathogen like MRSA. In hospitals, this continuous rise in nosocomial infections with antibiotic-resistant bacteria like MRSA is typically explained by the indiscriminate use of antibiotics and the number of severely ill patients being treated there. Most infectious disease experts agree that the most common breeding ground for multidrug-resistant bacteria is within the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As the number of ICU beds increase, the number of nosocomial infections also increases.

AHCA-Accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center

Though having surgery in the hospital can also be performed on an ambulatory basis, there is often cross-contamination with furniture, clothing, and hospital staff that have encountered ICU patients. This can still happen despite the best hand-washing and strongest infection control measures.

Data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) has consistently shown that outpatient surgery has a lower risk of surgical site infection when compared to inpatient surgery in a hospital.

Though surgical site infection risk is very low in an ambulatory surgery setting, it is still likely the most common major complication of elective plastic surgery. This is especially the case when implants are used during plastic surgery.

Miami Surgery, LLC has taken every effort to further decrease infection risk. Our ambulatory surgery center has gone one step further. The operating room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), hallways, and exam room walls have all been treated with antibacterial paint. Antimicrobial quartz countertops and surfaces were used throughout the facility.

Miami Surgery, LLC utilizes a very sophisticated air handling and High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration system in the operating and recovery rooms. Use of these air handling and HEPA filtration systems has been shown to produce a statistically significant reduction in airborne bacterial colony forming units (CFU). Forced air patient warming technology is routinely used to ensure active patient warming and body temperature control. This has been shown to significantly decrease the risk of many surgical complications, including infection. Sequential compression devices are also routinely used to help decrease the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
