This 63-year-old patient presented with a 5 cm hypertrophic forehead scar following a previous traumatic injury that was initially treated in the emergency room. The scar had healed with significant thickening, indentation, and tethering to the underlying tissue, extending down to the periosteum (the tissue covering the bone). The scar also caused visible retraction and muscle separation that became more noticeable when she raised her eyebrows. After years of being unhappy with the appearance of her scar, the patient underwent a forehead scar revision with Dr. Lampert to improve its appearance and contour.
